1. La Pedrera, Spain
La Pedrera is commonly referred to as Casa Mila and is based in Barcelona, Spain. The architecture of La Pedrera has been a research source for many architects from all corners of the world. Originally, it was designed by Antoni Gaudi especially for a newly-wed couple. The design of this structure is quite unconventional but extraordinary and stylish at the same time. The best way to experience the structure of this building is to go to the top floor and peek down. The attic and the roof give a spectacular view of the inside of the building which has been painted in a vibrant manner.

2. Antilla, Mumbai, India
Home to Indian Billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Antilla is the world’s first billion-dollar home that was constructed over a period of a few years. The infrastructure of the building is absolutely fantastic and it has everything in it for someone who has an elegant penchant for luxury. Although the construction of the building was winded up in 2010, the Ambani family has not exactly shifted there yet. Even then, this building is always well lit and plays host to surfeit of high-class corporate parties organized by the Ambanis. The billionaire family might soon be shifting to the Antilla.

3. The Crooked House, Poland
The Crooked House in Sopot, Poland might just be one of the weirdest buildings ever made. Each and every part of the building is crooked and gives a spooky appeal which is the reason why tourists flock from all over the world to experience this landmark. It was design and finished in 2003 but the inspiration of the design was taken from a painting by Per Dahlberg and Martin Szancer. The building gives a cartoonish feeling but is certainly not ugly but strange in a cool way. Critics from all around the world praise the designers for designing something soo out-of-the-book. The footfall of tourists has increased ever since The Crooked House opened to the public in 2003.

4. The Piano House, Anhui, China
As the name of the building suggest, The Piano House is basically a building that bears the shape of a grand piano itself. The entrance of the building is through a large grand violin that has been made from glass and it basically serves the purpose of a canopy for the roof of the building. The structure of the building is quite impressive and the glass violin entrance looks superb from front. There are a total of three pillars on which the weight of the whole building is supported. Over the past few decades, this building has attracted surfeit of tourists as well as architects from all over the world.

5. Habitat 67, Montreal, Canada
Habitat 67 is basically a residential complex in Canada that was designed by architect Moshe Safdie as it was to be showcased in an expo which went by the name of Expo 67. It resembles the playing cubes that kids play with but the same time, is habitable. Even if the structure of the building is strange, yet it is perfectly balanced and comfortable for living. Most of the homes here have gardens and the whole complex is also surrounded by greenery which makes the structure look even more appealing.

6. Capital Gate, Abu Dhabi, UAE

It is considered as one of the tallest buildings in Abu Dhabi and has been well recognized by Guinness Book of World Records as one of the world’s furthest leaning tower, the building leans to one side making an angle of 18 degrees which is basically four times more than that of Leaning Tower of Pisa. Most part of the building is made up from glass and this gives an altogether better appeal to the building. This spectacular design of the building has been appreciated by many leading critics from all over the world.

7. Cubic Houses, Rotterdam, Netherlands

The blueprint of Cubic Houses present in Rotterdam and Helmond, Netherlands were basically designed by architect Piet Blom. These are basically shaped like cubes that have been put in different angles from each other over hexagon-formed pylons. These houses bear a strong semblance with trees and give an impression of a forest. Count-wise, there are a total of 38 cubes which are all connected to each other in some way giving a superb look to the whole complex. The idea behind placing the upper part of the building over the lower part at an angle is definitely a new concept altogether.

8. Turning Torso, Malmo, Sweden
Turning Torso happens to be one of the tallest buildings in all of Sweden. From the lowermost point of the body to the uppermost point, the sides of the building twist at an angle of 90 degrees making it one of the most exclusive buildings. The designer for this building is architect Santiago Calatrava who had spectacularly designed each and every side of the building making it exclusive among all the other buildings of Abu Dhabi.

9. National Centre for Performing Arts, China
It took a total of six years for Paul Andreu and his proficient team of builders to design and build the building of National Centre for Performing Arts in China. The project commenced in the year 2001 and was completed in 2007 after six years. The whole outer structure of the building is made using titanium as well as glass giving a spectacular look from outside. Furthermore, this whole building lies on an artificial lake making it look even more beautiful. From the outside, the building resembles a giant egg.

10. Stone House, Portugal
If one is looking for a home that resembles the home of “Flintstones”, then Stone House in Portugal is certainly the place to be. This home has been carved out of a portion of two rocks and has been visited by architects from all over the world because of its magnificence. As a result of its popularity, Stone House was attacked by a group of vandals following which, the windows were made bulletproof and steel door was installed. From the inside, the house is quite comfortable with the perfect fire place in Stone Age style.
